In 2009, Greg Ruby received artist support grants through the City of Seattle's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs and King County's 4Culture to compose, record and perform new compositions inspired by Gypsy jazz guitar legend, Django Reinhardt. The Greg Ruby Quartet was formed to record and perform those compositions and to pay homage to the musical genius of Django on the auspicious event of the 100th anniversary of his birth.
